Mahesh Dattani is an esteemed playwright, stage director, and filmmaker with over forty years of experience. His plays have been published by Penguin Inida and have been performed all over the world, produced in London, Leicester, New York, Washington, DC, Sydney, Columbo, and Dubai.
He is the recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award 1998 for Final Solutions and Other Plays. He has also been awarded the Ahuja Fellowship from Columbia University in 2016.He is the founder and Artistic Director of Playpen Performing Arts Trust, a group dedicated to presenting new works in the theatre. He lives in Mumbai.
