Crowdfunding is the current buzzword for raising large and small amounts of money for almost about everything, by asking a large crowd of individuals for support instead of relying on direct sponsorships. It has become the go to strategy for artists all over the world with every one from Amamda Palmer, Don Cheadle, James Franco and Zach Braf becoming strong advocates of the process.
Our very own Kunal Kapoor is one of the three founding partners of Ketto, an online space to crowdfund social causes, creative projects and entrepreneurial ventures in India. His session @thedramaschoolmumbai is to give people an idea of how they can make crowdfunding work for an artistic project, social cause or new innovation. He will explain the thought process behind the concept and how an online platform like Ketto can galvanize attempts to raise seed funds. Participants can also ask Kunal about his crowdfunding experience (he recently raised about 10l for Nepal through Ketto) and how the platform can work for individual needs.
The talk is part of our @thedramaschoolmumbai series where the larger community of artists, theatremakers and theatre-entrepreneurs to come together to learn, network and grow. To know more about @thedramaschoolmumbai and to collaborate with us, do write in to info@thedramaschoolmumbai.in.
