As part of the student’s daily morning routine, in a recent class, our In-City students had the privilege of participating in a powerful breath work session with Hetal Varia, one of DSM’s esteemed faculty members. Breath work is an essential practice in actor training, helping performers connect deeply with their breath, body, and emotions. By mastering breath control, students improve their presence, focus, and ability to channel energy during performances. Sessions like these are not just about technique—they’re about unlocking inner potential, fostering mindfulness, and strengthening the performer’s instrument: their body and mind.
