After graduating from the DSM, Archana has done multiple plays, shorts films, and web series. She has worked with production houses like Utopia and Ideas Unlimited.
Archana used the skills acquired at The Drama School Mumbai to form Meat Puppet Company with fellow batchmates Samridhi Dewan and Saudamini Kalra. The Meat Puppet Company has staged 2 highly acclaimed productions thus far, has taken it’s work to Dubai and now even works with corporate theatre. Archana recently completed the Indian Theatre Forum’s arts management SMART programme.
Post the DSM, Chirag has been very active on the theatre scene. He has been working with four stage productions. Namely Ripples by The Blind and the Elephant Theatre Group, The Elephant Journey, and Love 2.0 with Anvarat Theatre Group. He has also worked on the online platform with production houses like Cinema4, TVF (The Viral Fever), and Jamic Films. He also plays multiple characters in Crumpled: A Compilation of Imperfect Love Stories directed by an ex-student of the DSM, Aakash Prabhakar.
Chirag is at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama furthering his education in the craft through the school’s MA in Acting.
After graduating from the DSM, Gaurav assisted faculty Deepal Doshi, in his theatre workshop ‘Culmination, Performance, Preparation’ at the Mumbai University, for students of the MA in Theatre Arts. He worked on Dharamjudh for 4 months, a play produced by theatre group Rammat. He is also associated with another start-up theatre group, "The Theatre Bees". Gaurav is looking forward to discovering and working on scripts of his choosing in different roles and capacities.
After graduating from the DSM, Harish founded Natakbaaz, a theatre group and production house, with batchmate Sambhaji Sasane. Under the Natakbaaz banner, Harish is currently directing plays and YouTube series. Meanwhile, he is also taking his Marathi solo play, Dashanan, a play dealing with a different aspect of the mythological evil king, Ravan, across Mumbai and intends to take it across India.
Harish conducts workshops with schools and NGOs, too. His long-term dream is to start a theatre school for children at the grassroot level.
Manraj has taken the theatre skills he acquired at The Drama School into the world of television and film, very successfully. He has acted in a TV series for Sony Pal, multiple ads and a web series. He has also been part of an independent film made in Bangalore. He plans to keep acting in films and television and continues to audition actively.
Prashansa started her own theatre company, Kuhu, and performed at The Edge- Residency with John Britton in Lesvos, Greece. She has been a part of the following plays: The Curious Climb of Cutter Chee by Benjamin Samuels with Theatre Professionals, Nobody Wants My Love by Bikram Ghosh/ Tadpole Repertory, Women By Women by Manjari Kaul/ Yellowcat Theatre & Instituto Cervantes, DIY Day by Bikram Ghosh/ Tadpole Repertory, Italian Comedy Indian Ishytle by Deepal Doshi/Indian Cartel. She featured in two web series, Baked, and Cash Dash. She has acted in many independent films of which Love is Dead went on to become the Audience Favourite at the 48 Hour Film Festival, Prague. Most recently, she’s launched her own production house: Daku Productions.
Post the DSM, Rahul wrote and performed a piece called ‘What's in a Name?’, mentored by eminent playwright, Mahesh Dattani, whom he also assisted on his movie ‘Hasmukh Sahab ki Wasiha’. He directed his first professional play "The Date(d)". Venturing into education, Rahul was a faculty intern at Actor Training Programme, conducted in Mumbai by SDDS Education of Australia in collaboration with University of Melbourne's Victorian College of Arts.
Originally a Computer Science Post-Graduate from Kolhapur, Sambhaji found his calling in storytelling through films & theatre. He was the recipient of a Scholarship from the Mumbai Marathi Sahitya Sangh which enabled him to pursue the course at The Drama School Mumbai.
Sambhaji has worked on plays in Marathi, Hindi, English as well as Kannada. He has worked with groups like Indian Ensemble for their play, Muktidham, directed by Abhishek Majumdar and also formed a theatre group called Natakbaaz, with fellow batchman Harish Kulkarni. Sambhaji performed the group’s first solo play, Hodi (Ship).
Sambhaji was a part of the play Tartuffe, written by Moliere & Directed by Daniel Goldman, where he played the part of Tartuffe, which was performed across India. He has also been part of corporate shows for Meat Puppet Company & Birla Sun Life Insurance Company (BSLI).
He has been a part of a TV series on Zee Yuva, worked as the lead in a Marathi Feature Film named Wagherya, directed by Sameer Asha Patil, screened at Mumbai Film Festival by MAMI, an international film festival held in Mumbai. He has worked in an Independent Hindi Feature Love & Shukla, directed by Siddharth Jatla. He has also been a part of independent Mauka Mauka series of Ads which ran during the cricket World Cup. He has worked on independent Ad films for KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) and TATA Motors.
After graduating from the DSM, Samridhi started her own theatre company called Meat Puppet Company with batchmates Archana Patel and Saudamini Kalra. The Meat Puppet Company has staged 2 highly acclaimed productions thus far, has taken its work to Dubai and works with corporate theatre.
Samridhi has also done corporate shows, while also performing in many plays with productions like Dur Se Brothers, and Shapeshift Collective. She frequently appears on screen in ads and has been associated with Anurag Kashyap’s Ishaana Movies.
Samriddhi recently completed the Indian Theatre Forum’s arts management SMART programme.
Saudamini co-founded Meat Puppet Company with two batch mates. Meat Puppet Company performed several shows for corporate houses around India, and even toured internationally with their production ‘Whole Sum Parts’. Additionally, Saudamini has been a part of various productions with The Drama School Mumbai, Naya Pata Collective, Thespo, Dice Media, Endemol India, NCPA, Mumbai Theatre Guide, Kotak, Glenmark Pharma, Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, and Taj Inner Circle. Currently she is studying and training further at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq, France.
After graduating from the DSM, Tanvee started working on the Bollywood Musical Jaan-E-Jigar in Dubai. She also worked on the devised play 07/07/07 directed by Faezeh Jalali.The play was awarded the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards for the Best Ensemble.
Tanvee devised and performed’ 3 Chairs’, a Clown piece, with Rohit Mehra for the Prithvi Carnival, 2015. Further, she worked on devising and creating Keep Calm and #ashtag, a play for teenagers that explores gender in public spaces. The piece was mentored by Sophia Steph, a theatre pedagogue from germany, and was supported by Theatre Professionals and Max Mueller Bhavan.
She has conducted a basic theatre workshop for students between ages 12 and 15 at Air Force station, Tambaram, Chennai. The workshop explored working as an ensemble, states of tension, objectives and intentions, movement and improvisation etc. She has been a part of various productions like The Curious Climb of Cutter Chee-a gangster spectacle with The Drama School Mumbai, The Seussification of a Midsummer Night’s Dream with Tortilla Entertainment Company, The Sketches with Centerstage, The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet with Tortilla Entertainment Company, Bob’s Date with Tortilla Entertainment Company, and Pizza Man with Green Fairy Productions.
After graduating from the DSM, Tushar received an MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from The Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in Blue Lake, California. He is currently the Marketing Coordinator at Dell’Arte and is working towards an international tour with an original ensemble piece “Eli and the Bear” and continues to perform his site-specific solo show “Detective Private Saves the World!
Focused on acquiring more skill and knowledge, Abhinav is now learning Yakshagana at the Yakshagana Kendra, Udupi, and has garnered accolades at various intercollegiate and other folk dance festivals. His play, Raavan Leela, won many awards at Mood Indigo - IIT Bombay, and Unmaad - IIM Bangalore, and was invited to perform at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bangalore, for CGK Rashtriya Rangotsav, in April.
Himani, after graduating from the DSM, worked with Theatre Professionals for their Young People’s Theatre Programme. She worked as an instructor in Delhi for the programme. She currently teaches drama at a reputed educational institution in Gurgaon.
Himani has also worked on various plays in different capacities, with the most notable being Faezeh Jalali’s 07/07/07. She was a part of the ensemble that won the META Award for the Best Ensemble for the play.
Having done several things in theatre, both on-stage and off, Ishaan has had the opportunity to work with big theatre names like Sanjna Kapoor for Junoon. He has also been the casting director for a film called 'Dirty Heroes' starting Arunoday Singh, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Sharma and many others under the banner of Talking Frames Production. Currently, he is a part of the cast of this film and has also assisted the directorial team by conducting acting workshops for the secondary cast of the film.
Kaizad has been very active across the theatre and film spectrum since graduating from the DSM. While he was in Mumbai after that, he did 5-6 gigs where he acted and was inculcated into administrative work as well. He acted in a play by Mahesh Dattani and assisted him in another.
In is hometown, Ghaziabad, he directed a play for his grandfather’s theatre company called Sadhana. He has assisted Tigmanshu Dhulia for a short film. In Delhi, he worked for the Theatre Garage Project with Ashwath Bhatt as a Production Manager. He is focusing on leading and developing Sadhana, and taking his grandfather’s legacy further.
After graduating from the DSM, Karan has been writing for the most part. He has worked on ads for major brands like Royal Enfield, Gaana.com, Pizza Hut under various companies like Like Minded People, Little lamb productions, Royal Enfield and Dlecta.
He wants to do cinema and theatre both, and he would also like to take up photography.
After graduating from the DSM, Kartavya did an independent Telugu film called Aithe 2.0. He also participated in Prithvi Theatre’s festival called Thespo with a full length play, Lihaaf, written by the legendary Ismat Chughtai. Lihaaf qualified for the finals.
Lihaaf was recently performed at Prithvi independently and has been doing shows across the city and the country. He has also worked with Theatre Garage productions.
He wants to do theatre and aspires to be a master of clowning in the next 10 years.
Mandira has been taken a very different route since graduating from the DSM. She taught at a school for special children and directed a play for their annual function.
Mandira went on to do an advanced course in photography and photoshop from Mumbai before moving to Delhi. In Delhi, she trained under a senior photographer and built her portfolio of photography and writing. She is now in New York doing a Master’s in Photojournalism. She has worked with NDTV Goodtimes, ART India, Prithvi Theatre and BNHS (Bombay Natural History Society) in various capacities.
Niketan has started his own production house called NOW Productions. Under NOW Productions, Niketan recently premiered Adrak, a play he wrote and directed and acts in as well.
He has also worked on learning new skills by attending workshops in Acting for Camera, conducted by the FTII alumni and has thereafter assisted them in conducting further workshops. He has worked as an actor with Australian director, Glenn Hayden in a performance-based workshop at Thespo. He has worked on a short films and has written and directed short videos for Zee Television and a phone application called Gorb.
After graduating from the DSM, Nikhil performed a play called 07/07/07 for Faezeh Jalali under FATS TheArts. The play won the META Award for the Best Ensemble.
Nikhil is working on a play called 12 Angry Jurors directed by Nadir Khan, an Aadyam Initiative. He has also worked as an understudy for a Sunil Shanbag's play called Blank Page under Tamaasha Theatre and as an understudy for I Don't Like It As You Like It, directed by Rajat Kapoor, an Aadyam Initiative under Cinematograph Rajat Kapoor's Production Company and has worked with Rage Productions.
After graduating from the DSM, he acted in a web series with Sony LIV called Tanlines. He has also been a part of FATS The Arts’ 07/07/07 by Faezeh Jalali, and worked on Padma Damodaran's play ‘Given’ for Writers' Bloc.
Roshan also acted in 3 south indian feature films called Adi Kapyare Kootamani, Puthiya Niyamam and Aanandam. Out of which, Aanandam became very popular, making Roshan a known actor in the industry as well as popular amongst the fans.
Shivam did a play called Open Cast under the banner of Indian Ensemble and Mimansha Theatre (backstage and acting respectively) after graduating from the DSM.
He also worked with Vivek Vijaya Kumran for Kuttyattam, a form of Sanskrit theatre indigenous to Kerala. Shivam owns and runs a YouTube channel called The Aiwehi Talkies, which touches upon current topics, films. Shivam and his channel have also developed a Web Series titled Shit It’s Engineering, a comedy take on engineering students’ life, and a short film titled Kaizad. He conducted a theatre workshop in Pondicherry with Aryan Mouch. Shivam also worked as an actor in an ad for Ola Cabs. He also did a yet unreleased web series titled Ayyo Drama.
Shivam has recently started his own advertising company called Aiwehi Media and Advertising Pvt Ltd.
Shristi Shrivastav has been flying high since graduating from the DSM. She acted in Faezeh Jalali’s 07/07/07, by FATS TheArts. The play won the Best Ensemble Award at the META Awards. She rose to popularity after featuring in multiple videos for the Girliyapa series by TVF. Which led to her acting in the film OK Jaanu, a Dharma Production, based on the Tamil film OK Kanmani.
Shristi has also been the understudy for Moonfool, a devised performance piece by Shapeshift Collective.
After the DSM, Kaustav has been on a roll. He has worked with Barefoot! Productions in an ensemble play. He also did a play called Still and Still Moving, along with Beyond Bollywood, a bollywood musical. Currently Kaustav is acting in two plays, Oddbird Theatre’s Futureproof, and 50 Words.
He has also performed shows with Cueless Improv, the only improvisation group in Delhi. And has carried out workshops on ‘Theatre Aesthetics and Voice study' for school children, in Delhi and Kolkata.
Niharika's film credits include 'This Will End in Murder', an independent feature by Pirate Productions. Since graduating from the DSM, her first professional play was 07/07/07. She is also playing one of the lead characters in Niketan Sharma’s Adrak. She also manages production for many plays including Bandish and Chuhal.
After graduating from the DSM, Nitika has been journeying on a very unique path. She is an important part of a theatre group, Darwesh, that explores historical reenactments in the spaces in which they happened. She was a part of Ravula, which looks at the mythological figure Ravan.
Nitika is part of a project, Shahjahan’s Daughters, which is a heritage walk in the tomb of Roshanara Begum. The walk/play gives an insight into Emperor Shah Jahan’s court through dialogue between his daughters Jahanara Begum and Roshanara Begum and storytelling.
Post graduating from the DSM, Sagar has worked in a Marathi play called Bin Biyaanche Zaad. He has also played a small role in Nandita Das’ 'Manto', and acted in a Marathi short film titled Eka Kachryachi Goshta.
Currently Sagar works for TARAPA, an initiative that works towards literacy for children in tribal areas. As part of his work with TARAPA, Sagar has been a part of a storytelling piece titled Goshtarang, that has been performed to thousands of children in schools in Palghar, Raigad and the Pune Districts. Sagar has continued to tour with Goshtarang all over Maharashtra.
Sagar's work in children’s theatre also extends to holding workshops and programmes in theatre for children across Maharashtra.and performing for children across Maharashtra. Sagar is now working on an adivasi language adaptation of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Sanket has worked in two short films - The Girl, and Sky Full of Sea - after graduating from the DSM.
Sanket has also acted in Bahut Bada Sawaal written by Mohan Rakesh, as well as in Juliet aur Uska Romeo. Sanket currently does a lot of corporate shows for Future Group India and Citibank. He has interned for Rajat Kapoor’s ‘I Don’t Like It As You Like It’. Sanket also conducts physical movement, speech and text workshops.
Shreeram has been part of a Marathi play called, Bin Biyancha Zaad. He also has to his credit, a small role in Manto by Nandita Das (currently under production). He has under his belt a Marathi short film Eka Kachryachi Goshta.
Shreeram, like Sagar, works with QUEST and TARAPA and performs a Marathi piece titled Goshtarang across schools in Palghar and Pune, and is currently touring across Maharashtra. Goshtarang has also been approached to perform across the northern states of India and for the same, Shreeram is working on a Hindi version of Goshtarang. He also conducts workshops for children in theatre across Maharashtra.
Since graduating from the DSM, Trinetra has been working as an actor, writer and director, and light designer and production manager. He has played a small role in the recently released, critically acclaimed film, Muktidhaam.
Currently he works as the production manager for Tricycle Productions’ on their production 'Lihaaf' and The Blind and The Elephant Theatre Group’s production 'Ripples'. He has also co-directed the play Adrak with Niketan Sharma, and also been light designer for the same. Meanwhile, he also performs plays for cancer patients at St. Jude’s India Childcare Centres. He is a part of Na Aage Naak Na Pichhe Pagaah, a poetry and dramatic reading initiative by playwright Ramu Ramanathan.
Vaishnavi started a Theatre Company, named BeTaal with Abhinav Grover, another alumnus of the DSM, after graduating from the school. Under Betaal, they have done 3 plays - Paanchvaali, Chenda and Rushomon. Out of which Paanchvali and Chenda were selected and performed at Thespo18.
She also stars in Bunmaska, a Marathi TV series on the channel Zee Yuva. On stage, she did Ripples, an English play by Gerish Khemani. Vaishnavi also stars in Girls’ Hostel, a Marathi horror serial, which premiered recently on Zee Yuva.
After graduating from the DSM, Vivaan worked in a play titled OPEN, and now he is acting in NCPA’s The Little Prince.
Vivaan wrote, directed and performed two solo acts - Duniya Bhi Kamaal Karti Hai and Rohan - mentored by director Sunil Shanbag. He is currently working as Stage Manager for Motley’s play Riding Madly in All Directions, starring Naseeruddin Shah.
Vivaan also acted in a recently released Marathi film titled Manjha, and has recently bagged the lead role in an untitled, under production web film.
Kohmal is currently working with Isheeta Ganguly on a play called 'Sunday's with Chitra and Chaitali." She is also performing a play called "Three women" at the Apeejay literary festival - Kolkata in January 2018. Kohmal has been trained in Jazz and is currently training in Kathak.
Adarsh is trained in Hindustani classical music for 10 years. he moved to Bombay in 2007 and thereafter has worked in more than 25 TVCs and 5 feature films. He is also working on a web series with Kenneth Sebastian for Amazon prime. He is also working on a feature film with Deepa Mehta slated to release in April 2018.
Chrisann previously worked with Shiamak Davar India International Private Limited for eight years, before donning multiple roles as a freelance Actor, Dancer, Choreographer, Teacher, and Model. Before joining the DSM, Chrisann completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media. Lays, Fanta, Dance +, 9xO, Gumrah are just a few campaigns of which she has been a part of.
